Life is messy, and beautiful

I'm sitting here streaming on Twitch, looking for inspiration for my YouTube channel and was pulled to the sad, dusty bookshelf behind me for a book. I pulled out this 2020 planner with quotes from a notable Buddhist Monk, Thich Nhat Hanh.

At first, I didn't really see anything that could get my creative juices flowing but then this quote above, popped out! 

You see, I've been struggling with content to create....

No packages! 

As I sit here, talking to the stream, I realize that I've been trying to package myself into a box that can be easily consumed.... such a people pleaser, huh?

I'm not meant for consumption, but to share all that I can, help where I can help, and uplift when I can. None of those things are meant for boxes, packages with pretty bows. Life it messy, and beautiful. 

I need to be authentic in my messy, beautiful, adorkable self as I go forward with learning how to be me in front of, and despite, myself. 

Onward and upward!

So, I was rummaging through my email this evening when I came across a message from the Universe that read: "Do you think most realize, Michelle, that what they're really after is more "living," not more rewards?"  What an incredibly profound thought.  As I reflected upon that question, it began to really resonate with my soul, how all the times I was struggling in my life, I was seeking desperately to LIVE.  There have been many times in my life where I wanted to live each moment, out loud, on purpose, without trying to squeeze myself into this little person that had to succeed at being grey, mundane, dull, lifeless.  But the rough edges of circumstance and lessons-to-be-learned clapped back at that wild, spirited, soulful idea and over time, my spirit became tired, too tired.
